A week ago Thursday, we flew to L.A. to take the kids to Disneyland on Friday and to watch my brother Steve, play in a Volleyball tournament for UVU at Long Beach State. We arrived pretty late Thursday evening, but went out to dinner anyway at Rain Forest Cafe which is at Disneyland. It was a really fun atmosphere and both of my kids were a little afraid of the thunderstorms that would happen every 15 minutes- whimps!
This picture perfectly describes the way Holden feels about my dad, he is absolutely in LOVE with him!! It's one of the sweetest things I've ever seen. Holden adores my dad and loves the same things he does, ie: my dad's car and boat, and just wants to be wherever he is. Thankfully the feeling is mutual. My dad is already worried about how he'll cope if the adoration ends.
Balancing act.
My parents were able to come to Disneyland with us for half the day before they needed to leave for my brother's tournament. It made it more fun to have them there and it was also nice to have their help with the kids.
The lines weren't too bad, but I was still surprised that there were any being that it was January.

I know this might seem insignificant, but I assure you it's not. Can you see the names of the two birds in the Tiki Room? It's Gigi and Mimi which are the names of the kids' grandmas!! Is it only me or does that seem like more than a coincidence! The Tiki Room is a family favorite and when we were there a year ago we discoverd this coincidence and couldn't believe that they are perched right next to eachother! I think this proves that our grandmother's special names are meant to be.

Here's my awesome brother Steve. Since I'm his sister it's only natural that I brag about him a bit. He hasn't played volleyball since highschool, but this last year after having served a mission and getting married, he went to open gym at school, and was so amazing that the coach asked him to be on the team! The amount of athletic ability that he has is really unfair, but it's always fun to watch him play and of course in my opinion, he's by far the best on the team!

Unfortunately a lot of my pictures turned out blurry even with my camera set on the action setting. Steve is just too fast.
My Aunt Kathy, Abby, and Tate, ever supportive, drove down for the weekend, it was so great to see them.
My other awesome brother, Chris, and Cassy drove up from San Diego to spend the weekend with everyone too. The only people missing was Amy's family. :(
Our last night in L.A. we went to Bucca De Beppo (sp?) at Universal walk. The boys thought they were pretty funny with this one.
Trav and me on Universal Walk. Man, I look hammered, I'll blame it on the busy days. All the lights and stores were really cool, I wish we would have had more time to peruse everything. It was a wonderful weekend spent with the best company - family!

Looks like such a fun family time, Nicole! It reminds me of the fun we would have when my mom and dad would come to visit us in Chicago. Enjoy your parents :-)
